Relief House Parents
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking married Christian couples who:
- Have been married 10+ years
- Are active and serving in a Bible-teaching church
- Have a heart for mentoring and supporting young moms
- Demonstrate a healthy, Christ-centered marriage
- Are compassionate, patient, and emotionally steady
- Are teachable and willing to be trained
Role Responsibilities
- Provide supervision and presence in the home during scheduled respite times
- Maintain a safe, calm, and structured environment
- Build healthy, trusting relationships with residents
- Model Christ-centered living and healthy family dynamics
- Offer encouragement, guidance, and support as needed
- Communicate clearly with full-time house parents regarding any needs or concerns
Personal Qualities
- Warm, positive, and nurturing demeanor
- Ability to set healthy boundaries with grace
- Strong communication and relational skills
- A heart to serve “the least of these” with love and dignity
Requirements
- Live a drug, alcohol, and smoke-free lifestyle (including vaping)
- Willingness to complete:
- Background check (via Protect My Ministry or similar)
- Credit check
- Application, interview, and references
- Must disclose any items that may appear on background reports

DESCRIPTION
What does it look like?
You’ll be living in the home with the girls as a family 2 days a week).
Skills
- Must be comfortable with household management and scheduling
- Must be able to lift small children to help the residents care for their children
- Assess the needs of the residents to help set them up to be successful at meeting appropriate goals that challenge & encourage growth.
Duties
- Transport residents to medical, educational, church or various other appointments or activities
- Provide a caring and supportive atmosphere for residents as they heal from their past & learn to become the mom that God has called her to be.
- Assist residents with life skills such as laundry, cooking, cleaning, healthy eating habits, menu planning, and delegate household chores amongst the residents.
- House father provide mentor opportunities to father of children
Requirements
- Mandatory reporter – if residents were victims of abuse or are abusive to others house parents must be able to act on this information.
